Junee Solar Farm (Riverina, NSW)

Climate Capital successfully commissioned the Junee Solar Farm in June 2023, delivering a 2.32MW solar array in Junee, New South Wales. The $3 million+ project was designed to provide a stable, long-term renewable energy supply to Junee Prime Lamb, one of Australia’s leading premium lamb processors. The solar farm operates under a 25-year behind-the-meter (BTM) power purchase agreement (PPA), ensuring cost savings and energy security for the agribusiness.

The project was developed in close collaboration with Junee Prime Lamb to support its long-term operational needs. Climate Capital led the design, final delivery, and commissioning, working alongside local partners, with Meralli Solar managing the construction and installation. Site works commenced in 2022, and the solar farm was completed within 18 months.

Designed for future scalability, the Junee Solar Farm is structured to allow for seamless expansion and battery integration without disrupting existing operations. This adaptability ensures continued energy reliability and efficiency as the agribusiness grows.

The solar farm has already delivered significant cost savings and provides 100% certified renewable energy, reinforcing Junee Prime Lamb’s commitment to sustainable business practices. By supporting a major regional employer, the project strengthens the local economy and showcases the benefits of dedicated renewable energy solutions for the agribusiness sector.

With a stable investment return and long-term benefits for stakeholders, the success of the Junee Solar Farm underscores Climate Capital’s commitment to delivering sustainable energy solutions tailored to the food processing and agribusiness industries. Climate Capital is actively exploring similar projects across the region, further expanding renewable energy access in underserved areas.
